Details | Yale Concert Band, Thomas C. Duffy, Music Director. “The Planets” by Gustav Holst (trans. Christiaan Janssen), featuring new graphic projections by Camilla Tassi ’22 and John Horzen ’24 – students at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University – and original visual art by Mikayla Johnson Yale College ’24. With special guest The Elm City Girls’ Choir, Rebecca Rosenbaum, Music Director. Each planet in Holst’s most popular work is named after a Roman god, and each movement – from ‘Mars: The Bringer of War’ to ‘Neptune: The Mystic’ – is imbued with an aspect of the human experience. In this exciting new multimedia collaboration between the Yale Concert Band and projection designers at the David Geffen School of Drama, each movement is paired with a visual exploration of the divine beings they were named for, creating a concert experience that humbly asks the question: what does it mean to be human? Audience Policy: Open to all asymptomatic patrons with an up to date vaccination status. Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines for their age range, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. Please bring your COVID-19 vaccination card or a clearly legible photo of your vaccination card on your phone, and a valid photo ID. Front of House staff members will be checking tickets, IDs, and proof of vaccination for all patrons. |
