Hamden Art League to Host Ct Artist Jack Montmeat at May 10th Meeting

Details Award-winning CT artist Jack Montmeat will present Charcoal Portrait Fundamentals” at 7 pm at HAL’s May 10th meeting in the Social Hall of the Hamden Senior Center, with entrance in the back of the Miller Memorial Library Complex, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden. Jack will demonstrate drawing a portrait from a live model in charcoal on toned paper. Issues like placement of the subject on the page, likeness, and drawing the features will be discussed in detail. Additional drawing topics such as line quality, shading, and measuring will be covered. With a BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio, Jack has exhibited in group shows throughout CT and New York, winning many awards and grants. Mr. Montmeat teaches drawing and painting at the Lyme Art Assoc., the Mystic Arts Center and the Wethersfield Art Academy.
