Pardee-Morris House will host a welcoming Tai Chi class on the lawn with Shifu Shirley Chock, on Sunday, June 2, 2024. at 2 p.m. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. For weather updates check FB/IG or call 203-562-4183. Shifu Shirley Chock is the owner and executive director of Aiping Tai Chi. She trained under the guidance of Grandmaster Aiping Cheng since 2001 and was appointed as the school’s assistant director before taking over ownership in 2017. She has led the Aiping Tai Chi competition team to multiple grand championships in national and international competitions, including winning the 2006 U.S. Wushu Union Women’s National Champion title.

Marine Science Training Opportunity for members of the New Haven and West Haven communities. Learn from University of New Haven and Gateway Community College faculty with expertise in marine biology and ecology, oceanography, and conservation during a 5 week training course. Training consists of weekly meetings and discussions with program faculty on marine science topics with 4 field excursions where trainees will gain practical experience sampling the environment and collecting data.

Trumbull Park Kiosk Linsley Dr, Plainville Parking lots on Linsley Drive River restoration expert Paul Woodworth of Save the Sound will describe basic principles and patterns of river formation in this shallow section near the top of the Quinnipiac watershed. Wear your muckin' boots or water shoes (optional)! Join as we learn and draw together.

Annie Sailer teaches modern dance classes in the New Haven area. The classes emphasize pelvis / spine initiated, free-flow, whole body movement and include a floor and standing warm-up followed by big, spatial movement sequences across the floor. All students receive individual attention to alignment and movement issues. The class atmosphere is friendly, non-competitive, and professional. Adults of all ages are welcome. $18 per class, $150 for 10 class card.
