Quinnetukut: Stories of the Survival of the Indigenous Peoples of Connecticut

Details The Seymour Library welcomes Darlene Kascak of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation. Ms. Kascak is the Education Director of the Institute for American Studies located in Washington, Connecticut.
Ms. Kascak will explore Connecticut history from multiple perspectives to provide a more truthful and accurate understanding of our state’s history. Indigenous People called Connecticut home for over 12,000 years. The Indigenous People are still here and always are adapting to new ideas, new technologies yet, their traditions and communities continue. They are still here.
Visual and tactile resources will be on hand and participants will learn the many ways that the Indigenous Peoples of Connecticut adapted to their changing environment and the impact European culture had on their lives.
