CT Open House Day: Climate Change & Architecture

Details The Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby, CT, will be participating in the 19th annual Connecticut Open House Day — a state-wide celebration of art, history, and tourism — on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM.

There will have a special climate change and architecture tour occurring at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Explore the transformation of this modest 1800s farmhouse and learn how certain architectural features help it adapt to the effects of climate change. 

This is a free event. Registration is not required. The Osborne Homestead Museum, a facility of the DEEP’s State Parks & Public Outreach Division, is open for free docent-led and self-guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off Rte. 34 in Derby, CT. The Kellogg Environmental Center, a facility of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s State Parks & Public Outreach Division, is open 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
