Details | The Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby, CT, will be participating in the 20th annual Connecticut Open House Day — a state-wide celebration of art, history, and tourism — on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. The museum is hosting the Sustainability Quest, an indoor seek-and-find adventure where participants learn the different types of energy uses and sources, their historical impacts, and the ways the 4Rs-reduce, reuse, refuse, and recycle — were practiced in the past and today. This is a free, family friendly event. Registration is not required. The Osborne Homestead Museum, a facility of the DEEP’s State Parks & Public Outreach Division, is open for free docent-led and self-guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off Rte. 34 in Derby, CT. The Kellogg Environmental Center, a facility of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s State Parks & Public Outreach Division, is open 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
