Hosted by Derby Public Library
Details Join Peter and Barbara Rzasa as they share their research on The Old Woodbury Path that connects Derby to a long, colorful history!

Once, an ancient Native American path that originally connected what is now the Lower Naugatuck Valley with tribal communities closer to Long Island Sound.
Before it was made wider by European settlers in Oxford and Seymour so that they could more easily bring farm products to market during the Colonial Period.
Ultimately, the path connected Woodbury and beyond with Derby landing, which was an important port for ships that carried produce to New York, Boston, Europe and the West Indies.

Learn more about this ancient highway, its effect on commerce, its eventual demise, and where original sections can still be found.
