| Details | Come celebrate Read Across America Day at the Derby Public Library! Join us for a delightful afternoon filled with stories, games, crafts, and snacks — perfect for little readers and big imaginations alike. We’re extra excited to welcome our special guest reader, a police officer from the Derby Police Department, for a Dr. Seuss themed story time! Stick around for Dr. Seuss Musical Chairs and get crafty as we make colorful Dr. Seuss inspired paper squishies. Read Across America Day is a nationwide celebration created by the National Education Association (NEA) held each year on March 2, honoring Dr. Seuss’s birthday and encouraging kids everywhere to discover the joy of reading. Recommended for ages 3 – 10. Registration requested at the More Info. link below, but drop-ins are welcome! Location: Story time will begin in the children’s room, followed by games and crafts in the lower level multipurpose room. |
