| Details | Seymour Library welcomes Erich and Janice Steinhagen who are holding a special program on Saturday March 28. The day will have live demonstrations of their Colonial era crafts running Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. Erich Steinhagen will first have his pottery demonstration from 10am to 12 pm. He will discuss the history behind the works he makes – he will show examples of pottery reproductions and historically inspired pieces. Erich’s potter’s wheel will be front and center as Erich show how he throws pots and discuss steps in making finished pottery pieces. Next Janice Steinhagen from 1:00 pm to 3 pm will present her own demonstration on fabric making in the Colonial period. She will show examples of raw fibers – wool, flax and cotton and how the raw fibers are sourced, prepared for spinning and the steps for weaving into useable fabric. Janice will give demonstrations of spinning and loom work. This program is free and no registration is needed. The program is suitable for children and adults of all ages.
