| Details | Kick off the celebration of 🦅America’s 250th Birthday🗽and our 🌱“Plant a Seed, Read” Summer Reading theme📚 with a blooming Juneteenth-themed Storytime & Craft 💐✨ We’ll read the book They Built Me for Freedom: The Story of Juneteenth and Houston’s Emancipation Park by Tonya Duncan Ellis — a story about the people who helped grow a park where community, joy, and freedom could flourish! After the story, children will create colorful “Freedom Flowers” filled with hopes, dreams, and kindness for the future to add to our community garden display and/or take home to plant in their own yards! ❤️🤍💙 Come celebrate 250 Years of Growing Freedom — one story, one seed, and one flower at a time! ❤️🤍💙 All ages are welcome! 😊 Registration recommended to reserve supplies, but all are welcome while supplies last! Please register each child separately so we know how many friends to expect at the More Info. link below! |
