Geared for ages 6 – 11, this fun cartooning class will be taught by Debi Hamuka-Falkenham, a professional cartoonist, illustrator, and creative writer. All materials will be supplied and the event is free! See below for a summary of Debi’s background written and provided by her personally. Debi the cartoonist- what she’s done and who she’s done it for: Debi Hamuka-Falkenham has enjoyed her work as a humorous illustrator (aka:cartoonist) and as a creative writer for longer than she’d care to mention in public. (lol) Over the past 25 years Debi has given thousands of cartooning classes at libraries, public and private schools, camps, and home school groups. Debi’s fun artwork and creative writing have been used by such companies as Crayola, Fisher Price, General Motors, Dayspring Greetings, GTE and also for a variety of other noted companies, for such products as educational materials, children’s books, computer programs, and numerous other printed items, even pizza boxes. Debi graduated from Paier College of Art and the Museum of Cartoon Art’s program. Debi’s an active member of SCBWI (The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) and she always takes classes to keep up with new things in the art world. On a personal note Debi is a mother of three and a “Mema” to her three wonderful grandsons. She’s also got two cute furry friends, Cooper the Dog and Mittens the Psycho Kitten. She affectionately calls these guys her furry art assistants. |
